It’s that time of year. The time when you decide it’s fine to ride in 12 degree weather. The time when your food and water freezes, your hands and feet go numb, and your bike gets covered in water and road salt…
It’s the time of year when you decide that you were a freakin idiot for going outside!
That “time of year” for me was yesterday. My first ride outside in sub 25 degree weather. It’s the same every year. Through spring, summer, and fall you tend to forget just how bad it is… and you think you’re tough enough to handle it. Well… you’re not!
Just one ride brings back the painful experiences of just one year ago. The warming of frostbitten hands and feet - what a way to end a ride! It’s enough to make me want to stay out in the cold!
I even bought a trainer this year. And I wore it out after a month. So, inevitably, I rode outside in frigid temperatures. Now I’m getting ready to buy some rollers. Then I’ll stay inside like a sane person!
Perhaps I’ll even pick up some workout videos. I have a CTS mountain biking video, the Spinervals might be ok, but I’m more interested in the Cyclo-core workouts. [See resource box below.] There’s a little bit of everything - riding, light lifting, etc. - and best of all: just 30-60 minutes each!
You get to stay inside, avoid trainer boredom, and you don’t even have to go to the gym! Definitely too good to pass up!
Even if you don’t want to buy anything, check out the site for a free special report: “Five Secrets to Double Your Off-Season Fitness”
Moral of the story: This is the off-season. Don’t ride outside if it’s below 25 degrees. And feel free to use this as an excuse to spend the winter in California!

Bicycling is a fantastic way to improve your health, save money, while helping in keeping the environment unpolluted at the same time. Bicycling also doesn’t damage your joints that jogging and working out in the gym can. It’s also practical in that one is able to keep fit by travelling to the shops, or to the workplace, so you don’t have to to make time for working out as nearly all other forms of work out enforce on you.
However, there are numerous different sorts of bike out there - what one is right for you? A bike that is comfortable for you as you’re sitting in the saddle, and has many gears to enable you to tackle slopes with comparative comfort - after all, we don’t all live in Amsterdam! One ought to be able to lift your cycle with comparative comfort as you’ll find yourself needing to do so sometimes, for instance up some stairs.
Also ensure you have the appropriate add-ons for your cycle : a bicycle pump, front and back light, bike mudguards, reflector lights, reflective jacket, helmet and strong lock. Such bicycle accessories help you stay secure in the dark, and your bicycle out of reach from thieves. Ensure you lock the bike in a reasonably communal location.
Lastly, it’s a great move to commit a bit of time into learning how to repair your bike. You don’t need to be a cycle repair guru, but it’s handy if you can discover how to adjust your brake cables and brake pads as these frequently require calibrating following heavy usage. And ensure you keep the cycle well oiled and the tyres pumped hard to make it that much easier to actually cycle.. And it almost goes without saying, have good road sense - indicate with your arms when turning, and stay on the left-handside on all roads.

There are quite a few differences between car and motorcycle shipping. While a car has a reliable handbrake and four wheels for extra stability a motorcycle is quite different by design having only two wheels amd nothing to keep the bike stationery except the stand. You might think that motorcycle shipping would be cheaper than car shipping because of the difference in size of vehicles but this is rarely the case. The closed carriers that are often used should be specially designed to carry motorcycles and this will mean that there will either be palettes specially designed for the purpose or there will be specially fitted tracks that serve the same purpose. What this means is that a motorcycle basically takes up the same room as a car when it needs to be shipped anywhere.
How expensive is motorcycle shipping?
This is dependant on two main factors. How far you are travelling and what services the company you intend to use has to offer. There are a variety of different services that a shipping company can offer you. You would be better using a specialist motorcycle shipper than a car shipper that offers motorcycle shipping as an extra service.
The further you are travelling and the more services you require the higher the price is likely to be, but you will receive a discount from the right company if you are transporting more than one motorbike so shop around for quotes.
Is motorcycle shipping safe?
A reputable specialist motorcycle shipping company will know exactly what they are doing with your bike. Many companies employ motorbike enthusiasts and owners to drive the carriers so you can be sure that the driver knows how much your motorbike means to you. This isn’t to say there isn’t the occasional accident.
A good shipping company will include some insurance with your quote and will try their utmost to ensure that nothing does go wrong. While the Insurance will cover you for scratches and careless damage by the shipping company it is unlikely to cover for ‘acts of god’ like a sinking ship or damage due to floods. If you’re especially worried about this, either because of the time of year, the expected weather or simply because you are transporting your dream bike you can buy extra Insurance that covers for virtually any eventuality and your shipping company should be able to offer you a little advice on the relevant policies.

There are two types of dirt bikes engines. Two stroke engine and four stroke engine. The engine type determines the body type of a motorcycle that it has. The two-stroke engine creates a lot of horsepower and creates a fast motorcycle. These are for racing. They are loud and noisy and high pitched in sound. Riding a two-stroke motorcycle is like riding a bolt of lightening. It burns a lot of gas and oil, fast.
The four-stroke engine is more for recreation and doing things other than racing and riding real fast. The four-stroke motor gives off a deep sound and is slower. You go slower, but have more power. If you are into hunting or fishing, you might use a four stroke four wheeler or motorcycle to get you through the woods and fields.
There is a different type of person who rides these two kinds of motorcycle types. If you are more into speed, then you go with the two strokes. If you are more into performance, then you go with the four strokes. It all depends on your needs and your likes.
Riding motorcycles is very fun, fast, and exciting. The air moves so fast and you feel so free when riding. Motocycles are a great way to see the world and get out for fresh air.Whether it is a four-stroke engine or two-stroke engine, you can feel the same thing that motorcycle fans rave about all over the world. Get out and ride.
